ALL U.S. DESTINATIONS TO BENEFIT FROM U.S. PRECLEARANCE FACILITY
From 15 January 2015, all Etihad Airways customers flying to any of our U.S. destinations – Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C. – will have access to Abu Dhabi International Airport’s United States Pre-clearance facility located at Terminal 3.
This facility enables passengers flying Etihad Airways to pre-clear the U.S. Customs and Border Protection formalities before boarding their flights in Abu Dhabi. Upon arrival in the U.S., passengers will be treated as though they are domestic arrivals. Shorter connection times are possible for onward flights in the U.S., with your luggage arriving to the final destination.
And with the addition of Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks, U.S., Canadian and eligible Visa Waiver Program international travelers can experience even shorter wait times and faster processing when passing through Abu Dhabi International Airport.
As the first facility of its kind in the region, passengers flying to all our U.S. destinations can now look forward to more of our award-winning hospitality, and worry less about long lines.
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility at Abu Dhabi Airport
The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility at Terminal 3 in Abu Dhabi Airport is a purpose-built facility that allows U.S. bound passengers to undertake all immigration, customs and agriculture inspections in Abu Dhabi prior to departure.
Abu Dhabi Airport is one of only a handful of airports outside North America that offer the CBP facility. Having cleared CBP, guests can check-through their baggage to their final destination in the United States. On reaching the U.S., guests will be treated as domestic arrivals, which allows for faster processing at their arrival airport.
Etihad Airways operates flights to the following destinations in the U.S. – New York (EY101 only), Chicago (EY151), Washington (EY131), Los Angeles (EY171), and Dallas (EY161). Guests flying to above destinations in the U.S. will use the CBP facility at Abu Dhabi Airport.
Please note: Starting from the 15th of January 2015, this service will be available for the Etihad Airways flight numbers EY103 to New York (JFK) and EY183 to San Francisco (SFO).
