We begin our journey exploring the ‘forbidden’ city of Lhasa, including a visit to the Potala Palace, the winter residence of the Dalai Lama.Then drive on rugged Tibetan plateau towards west to visit two other major cities of Tibet – Shigatse & Gyantse, filled with magnificent monasteries. Before flying back home we head eastward to another major city of Tibet – Tsetang.

Day 1: Arrive Lhasa.
Fly Kathmandu to Lhasa. Transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 2: Lhasa sightseeing
AM: visit Potala palace Jokhang temple and Barkhor. PM Norbulingka.
Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 3: Lhasa sightseeing
AM: Visit Drepung. PM visit Sera monastery, Tsamkhung Nunnery.
Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 4: Shigatse
Drive to Shigatse via Chusu bridge (177mi/5hrs). PM visit Tashi Lumpo monastery. Overnight in Shigatse
Day 5: Gyantse
Drive to Gyantse via Bailang county (56mi/1.5hrs). PM city tour and visit Palkhor Choide and Kumbum monastery. Overnight in Gyangtse
Day 6: Tsetang
Drive to Tsetang via Chusu bridge crossing the Karo La and Kamba La passes (211mi/6hrs). Overnight in Tsetang Hotel

Day 7: Tsetang sightseeing
Visit Samye and Yumbulakang palace.
Day 8: Departure
Drive from Tsetang to Gonggar airport, for your homeward bound flight.
