Annapurna Poon Hill Trek is one of the best trekking trails to explore the significant view of Himalayas. Annapurna Poon hill trekking region in Nepal has been recognized as paradise. Annapurna trekking region is a very popular area that offers a dramatic trekking experience for trekkers from all over world. Trekking in the Annapurna region is one of the most famous and popular destination of Nepal. This area is dominated by the presence of such peaks and mountains e.g. the Annapurna , Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Machhapuchre ranges. These mountains loom in the distance throughout your trek, giving you a true Himalayan experience and lots of enjoyment. Trekking through the lowland villages and mountain communities will expose you to the variety of different cultures of the Gurung, Magars, Manangi, Thakali people and other local ethnic groups.
The intricate sub-tropical valleys at the base of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre mountain ranges are fascinating and very picturesque. The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek will take you through verdant hills and terrains and you will experience the delight of blooming rhododendrons and foxgloves, and the spectacular vegetation of pine, oak, birch and juniper trees. The trek is sometimes called the Annapurna Panorama Trek because of the panoramic vistas of Annapurna ranges and its many surrounding peaks. The most famous and unrivalled section of the route is the absolutely breath-taking view of the rising sun from the vantage point at Poon Hill. Here, as the sun ascends the cyan sky, the change in the atmosphere and the breathing of life into all around is simply indescribable. The slow ascent of the sun from behind the Annapurna ranges transforms the ivory snow into molten gold and burning saffron – it is truly heavenly and divine.

Overnight in Kathmandu.
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara through a tourist bus to Pokhara (about 6-7 hours’
drive) via scenic Prithvi Highway, enjoying shortstops for lunch and breakfast and
scenic beauty all the way around. Upon arrival at Pokhara, you will be transferred to the
hotel, where you can enjoy your spare time at the lakeside. You can relax at the Phewa
Lake, surrounded by the Annapurna Himalaya Range and visit Bindavasini Temple
which is only accessible by boat.

After breakfast, your journey to Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill trek begins. A car drive
for about 1 and half hour through large village Lumle brings you to Nayapul. The trek
starts from here, dropping at first on a staircase and then traversing high above the river
on a wide, stone-paved trail to a large and prosperous town Birethanti (1000m). The
trekking trail today follows winding bamboo forests and waterfalls with plunge pools
inviting you for a refreshing swim. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail
reaches a small village Sudami, where you can have your lunch. After lunch climb
steadily up the side of the valley to reach Hille (1510m|4,954ft) and after a short walking,
you will arrive at Tikhedunga, where you will spend the overnight at guest house.

The trail crosses the Tikhedunga River on a suspension bridge, then drops and crosses
the Bhurungdi Khola on a large bridge at 1,520m. The trail ascends on a stone staircase
that is said to have more than 3,300 steps. The unrelenting staircase continues to the
large Magar village of Ulleri (2,080m). From Ulleri the trail gently climbs through pastures
and cultivated fields. You walk up beside the cascading river through refreshingly cool
oak and Rhododendron forest. The trail crosses two sparkling clear streams, a small
ridge, and another stream before making a short climb to Nangathanti (2,460m). We have
a little rest with lunch here at Nangathanti. In winter the trail can be covered with snow.
The day destination Ghorepani (2,750m) is reached after about an hour past
Nangathanti.

Most people rise before dawn the following day to make the early-morning excursion to
Poon Hill (3,210m), one of the best Himalaya viewpoints in Nepal, provides an
unobstructed view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas. The spectacular panorama
stretches from Dhaulagiri I (8,167m) and Tukuche (6,920m) to Nilgiri (6,940m),
Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8,091m), Hiuchhuli (6,441m) and Tarke Kang (7,193m).
Gangapurna (7,454m), Lamjung Himal (6,986m) and the Mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchhre
6,997m) make your breath and eyes caught. Watching the beautiful sunrise is a defining
moment with lots of pleasure and tranquility.
After breakfast, our trek to Tadapani starts. A short early morning climb to the Deurali
pass for a spectacular panorama over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The trail descends
steeply through the dense moss-covered forest with rich bird life to Tadapani which also
provides a close-up sunset view.

Today the trekking trail descends steeply through rhododendron forests to Baise
Kharka. You can encounter monkeys and wide varieties of birds. The right-hand trail
makes a short, steep descent among rocks to a stream crossing then leads out a ridge
towards Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the second largest Gurung village in Nepal. You can
explore the maze-like streets of this thriving Gurung settlement. Enjoying a good
mountain view of Annapurna South and Fishtail, you can spend an overnight here in the
guest house.
After lunch in Ghandruk The trail passes through small hamlets, terraced rice fields and
subtropical forests giving a very beautiful glimpse. We will mostly follow the ever-flowing
Modi Khola with an easy and pleasant walk to Birethanti. The trail makes a flat- steep
descent alongside to the stream. We continue our walk to Nayapul and catch a private
vehicle to get to Pokhara you will be transferred to your hotel and you will say goodbye
to your guide and porter.
Overnight in Ghandruk. Lodge/Tea-House. (B, L, D)
Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul via Birethanti takes about 5 hours. This day you descend
through Kimshe to Shaulo Bazaar. From here your trail goes quite flat until you retrace
back to Birethanti. You need to walk almost half an hour to get to Nayapul. Drive from
Nayapul to Pokhara

After breakfast transfer to airport for your homeward bound flight.
