Annapurna trekking region in Nepal has been recognized as paradise. Annapurna trekking region is a very popular area that offers a dramatic trekking experience for trekkers from all over the world. Trekking in the Annapurna region is one of the most famous and popular destination of Nepal. The area is dominated by the presence of such peaks and mountains e.g. the Annapurna Ranges, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Machhapuchre etc. These mountains loom in the distance throughout your trek, giving you a true Himalayan experience and lots of enjoyment. Trekking through the lowland villages and mountain communities will expose you to the variety of different cultures of the Gurung, Magars, Manangi, Thakali people and other local ethnic groups.
The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a trek in the Annapurna region which commonly starts or finishes in either Phedi or Nayapul and reaches the Annapurna Base Camp. Take a bus to either Phedi or Nayapul. There is a myriad of trails that traverse the Annapurna and lead to Chomrong from where there is only one path up to Annapurna Base Camp. Nayapul is marked by a collection of roadside shacks that function as bus/taxi stop backed by a slightly more substantial village that has a jeep track through the middle of it.

Pokhara; the city of magnificence is truly a jewel which has made it the best tourist
destination of Nepal. Throughout 6/7 hours’ drive to Pokhara, you will find the scenario
to observe the beautiful landscapes, farm fields, water bodies occasionally; sometimes
to the left and sometimes to the right of your vehicle seat.
Upon reaching Pokhara in the evening, the view of mountains like Dhaulagiri, Manaslu,
Annapurna ranges and the shadows of hills and Machhapuchre Mountain in the
sparkling water of peaceful Fewa Lake will mesmerize you. If you still have some time
remaining, the lakeside bestows you plenty of restaurants where you can enjoy live
music performances and light snacks.

“Tikhe Dhunga” in Nepali which means a “sharp stone or rock” is the place you are going
to stay overnight on this day. The first activity we will do is drive to Nayapul through the
village Lumle from where the actual trek adventure starts. Then, arrives the gorgeous
village; Birethanti that has small shops and tea houses followed by the place called
Ramghai where we will have lunch and continue marching upwards until we reach Tikhe
Dhunga. Throughout the way from Nayapul to Tikhe Dhunga, you will be able to take
pleasure of the hilly views, of the small sparkling river due to the sunrays, of the chirping
sounds of the birds as evening approaches you and many more.

After the breakfast in Tikhe Dhunga, we will cross a stream on a suspension bridge near
the campsite and follow the trail that mounts a vertical stone staircase (which has about
3300 strides) to the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080m. From the Magar village, the
trail slowly directs you uphill through farming lands and small houses and will take you to
a campsite where you can rest for a while. The trail encloses two dazzling watercourses
before we climb to Nangethanti which will be our lunch spot for the day. Thanti is a Nepali
word which stands for “rest house”. From Nangethanti we will scale up to Ghorepani at
2850m, from where we can observe the startling panoramic view of Dhaulagiri I (8167m),
Tukuche Nilgiri (6940m) Annapurna I (8091m) Hiunchuli (6441m) and more.

To view the sunrise, will get up early this morning for our hike to Poon Hill
(3180m/10430ft) to reach there before the yellow luminous views of Annapurna and the
Dhaulagiri Ranges gets missed out. The panoramic view of the snow-capped mountain
peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Varaha
Shikhar (7847 m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna South (7219 m), Annapurna III
(7855m), Machhapuchhare (6993 m), Annapurna IV (7525 m), Annapurna II (7937 m)
and Lamjung Himal (6931 m) will energize you to scale up even more. After enjoying and
taking some pictures with stunning backgrounds we will again come back to Ghorepani to
treat our belly with hot breakfast. Embracing all the beauties you will see around, we will
continue to walk uphill and finally conclude our day in Tadapani.

A village which is mostly inhabited by Gurung ethnicity and is also the entrance to the
Annapurna Sanctuary known as the home to diverse types of exotic flora and fauna.
Various species of birds will entertain you with their tweeting music throughout the way.
The generous welcome performed by the Gurung people there will elevate your heart
with bliss. Moreover, the blossoming Rhododendron and dense oak forests, riotous
woodland will accompany you on your journey.

After descending to the suspension bridge over the Chomrong Khola you hike the undulating trail to the small hamlet of Dobhan via the villages of Sinuwa, Kuldihar and Bamboo. About half an hour past Dobhan a shrine which is the sacred home of the deity
Panchhi Baraha and next to it is a view of an impressive waterfall. Passing the Modi Khola the trail goes steeply up to Himalaya Hotel for your night halt.

Today, we trek through rocky trails that lead us to Bagar. The trails are steep, so we
need to walk with caution. From Bagar, we ascend gently to Machhapuchhre Base
Camp.
After 5 hours of trek, we reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp which hosts the stunning
view of Machhapuchhre (6993m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna I (8091m) Annapurna
South (7219m), Annapurna III (7555m), Gangapurna (7454m), and the other Himalayas.

The path up to the base camp is moderately steep and you will find this stretch very pleasant as you gently stroll along the river through tranquil meadows with many boulders to rest upon and gaze in awe at the surrounding peaks. From here the
panorama is breath taking, Annapurna I rears above a rubble covered glacier while to the south Himchuli and Annapurna South loom ominously whilst Machhapuchre (Mt. Fishtail) appears quite magnificent. For a view of Gangapurna climb the moraine with a few rock cairns to the south.

From the Annapurna base camp we retrace our steps back to Bamboo. Today’s trek is downhill, so it shouldn’t be very difficult. Besides, we will always have the company of the extraordinary landscape to cheer us up.

From Bamboo, it is an uphill trek to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then we climb the stone steps to Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. Today we will have an opportunity to enjoy the hot springs which is just a 15-20 minute downhill walk from Jhinu Danda to soothe our aching body. Overnight in Jhinu Danda.

From Bamboo camp, it is an uphill trek to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then we climb the stone steps to Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. Today we will have an
opportunity to enjoy the hot springs which is just a 15-20 minute downhill walk from Jhinu Danda to soothe our aching body.

Although our last day of trekking is just a short 3 hour journey downhill to Phedi, nothing
in this valley is really “easy”. The first part of the trail is a pleasant walk through the
woods. We then begin to see the signs of “civilization”, or at least bigger towns and
roads. Still, this track is not as heavily traveled as some of the trails we have seen. We
will reach and Drive to Pokhara
